Sometime ago, we heard that Akshay Kumar was interested in bringing to life the Raniganj Coalfield rescue mission where JS Gill rescued 64 trapped miners. However, now comes the news that Ajay Devgn has acquired the rights the story from JS Gill. A source recently was quoted in a daily ascertaining the deal. “Last week Akshay heard the Raniganj Coalfield rescue mission story (1969), where 64 miners were trapped in a coal mine hundreds of feet underground and was keen to act in it. He was in the process of acquiring the rights to the film when he learned that Ajay has already acquired the official rights for the story from JS Gill (currently based in Amritsar) who rescued his team at the Raniganj coal mines.”
It’s also been said that both Ajay and Akshay are involved in two versions of the epic Battle Of Saragarhi. Another film, starring Randeep Hooda, too is rumouredly based on the same subject.
More the merrier, shall we say!
