Shah Rukh Khan understands the film business pretty well and believes that a film is much bigger than an actor’s ego. And so he has taken the decision to avoid clash with Akshay Kumar’s film, Toilet Ek Prem Katha. Both films, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Toilet Ek Prem Katha were earlier slated to release on 11 August but now, Srk’s Jab Harry Met Sejal directed by Imtiaz Ali is preponed to 4th August, which has a long weekend with the following week offering Independence Day holiday as well.
This move can prove to be a game changer for Bollywood that is infamous for the egos of superstars who have over the years succumbed to box-office clashes that have damaged the film revenues collectively.
Thanks to SRK not succumbing to his ego and taking the path less travelled, both the films will now get their own audiences depending on the merit of their respective content. Earlier this year, SRK’s Raees had emerged as front runner in its clash with Kaabil. That makes this step even more praiseworthy. Kudos, Srk!
